Our Toplite Standard 3.6N Blocks are manufactured from autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC), commonly known as “aircrete.” These blocks are incredibly lightweight—weighing roughly a third of a standard dense concrete block—making them significantly faster to lay and much easier to handle, especially when working at height. The primary advantage of Toplite blocks is their superior thermal performance. The aerated structure contains millions of tiny air pockets that act as a barrier against heat loss, helping projects easily meet or exceed Part L of the Building Regulations. This reduces the need for additional insulation materials and lowers the overall carbon footprint of the building. Despite being lightweight, these blocks possess a 3.6N/mm² compressive strength, making them suitable for the construction of load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls, as well as the inner leaf of cavity walls and solid partitions. They are also highly versatile; they can be easily cut, sawn, and chased using simple hand tools, saving significant time for electrical and plumbing installations. Exceptional Insulation: Outstanding thermal conductivity (approx. 0.15 W/mK) helps regulate indoor temperatures and reduce energy bills.
