Our Pine Universal Decking Rail (Including Fillet) is the essential component for creating a professional and secure balustrade around your garden deck. True to its name, this “universal” profile is designed to function as both the handrail (top) and the base rail (bottom), ensuring a perfectly matched and symmetrical look for your project. Each rail features a precision-machined groove specifically sized to house standard decking spindles. Crucially, this rail includes the matching timber fillet. This allows you to cut the fillet into small spacers to place between your spindles within the channel, ensuring professional, even spacing and a solid, rattle-free finish. To ensure a long life outdoors, the timber is Pressure Treated, providing deep-seated protection against fungal attack, wood-boring insects, and wet rot. The light green tint of the treatment will naturally fade to a silvery-brown over time, or it can be easily stained to match your chosen decking colour. Universal Application: One profile does both jobs—simply flip the rail to use it as either the top handrail or the bottom base rail. Including Fillet: Comes complete with the internal timber strip (fillet) required to space your spindles correctly and fill the channel between them. Pressure Treated: Deep-penetrating preservative treatment ensures maximum durability and weather resistance. Premium Pine Finish: Planed all round for a smooth, high-quality finish that is safe to the touch.
